One must never believe that what one has said in the past binds them to a particular path. The universe loves irony. One must simply do what is best for one's self and her pup. And if that means going back on what one has said, then so be it. A person must never refuse the direction that is best...the dear pup would suffer. If one felt that to best care for her pup, she had to stand on her head, when she's said in the past that standing on one's head was just plain stupid...well...better the pup's well-being than the kharmic backlash or plain old embarrassment.

Alina informed me of your plight, and it sounds like you've already decided. And whatever you decide is the right choice. The real question that no one can yet answer is, how long will that be the right choice? Try it out.

We all go down paths we despise at one point or another. Raising a child is the toughest path of all and even though it is as tough as hell, I tell myself it is worth it. Sometimes I tell myself this a thousand times a day and I still don't believe my words. I wish I could put life on hold too, but bills are bills and my son would probably drive me crazy.

I agree with Alina. Do what is best for your daughter, even it does resemble that which you purport to despise. Its not about you right now, its about her. There is plenty of time to be cynical about it after its all said and done. By the way, say Hi to your dad for me. I recently found the cooooool notepad I made in his Graphic Arts class back when we were in school. I think that speaks more to my pack rat tendencies than anything else though...
